Monthly training at Las Piedras Ranch:

  • 2 month minimum

  • Training 5-6 days a week

  • Weekly one hour lesson with you and your horse in training included in the monthly price

  • Sunrise to sunset access to 2 round pens, a full-size outdoor arena, covered arena, and miles of surrounding trails

  • An individual pen with alfalfa fed twice daily (if grass hay is preferred, it must be provided by owner). Price of alfalfa included in training price

  • Grain/supplements fed to the horse if provided by the owner

  • Horses must wear shoes due to rocky environment

  • No off-site training available unless it’s trailer loading

  • $1,800 total: $1,400 per month for training + $400 per month for board

Carly trains at her parents’ facility, Las Piedras Ranch, in Golden, Colorado.  She uses a natural horsemanship method, gaining the horse's respect in order to get him to respond correctly and softly to cues.  Her specialty is colt starting and helping people solve problems in their horses.  She has had experience with many different breeds, including ponies, miniatures, Quarter Horses, Paints, Arabians, Morgans, Friesians, Mustangs, Lipizzanners, Paso Finos, Peruvian Pasos, Tennessee Walkers, Swedish Warmbloods, Norwegian Fjords, Haflingers, Appaloosas, and Belgians.  She also has had experience with horses at all stages of training, from untouched to finished. 

If you don’t want to leave your horse for training or if you want to come back later for a refresher, sign up for a lesson with Carly, and she will be happy to work on training with you.  The Las Piedras facility includes an outdoor arena, a covered arena, a round pen, and access to miles of trails.  She is only willing to meet you and your horse at your facility if you can’t get your horse loaded in your trailer to come out to Las Piedras Ranch.  A driving and time fee will be incurred—the amount depends on the distance from the ranch.

Monthly training includes board at Las Piedras Ranch and costs $1,400/mo for training and $400/mo for board, or $1,800 total per month.  This price includes alfalfa twice daily and training 5-6 days/week.  Any grass hay, grain, or additional supplements will be fed to the horse but must be provided by the owner with no discount.  Carly prefers that her clients come out and participate in training sessions as often as possible in order to fully understand the cues she is teaching the horse.  With this method, there will be clear communication between you and your newly balanced equine partner upon its return home!  She is willing to organize the training around whichever discipline you endeavor to participate in with your horse.  There is a required two month minimum in order to ensure you see the difference in balance in your horse before and after training.
