Carly is an annual consignor to the Diamond-McNabb Ranch Horse Sale in Douglas, Wyoming the first Saturday in June. Palomino Gelding

Quill is an AQHA palomino gelding with a long resume. He has competed in the Horseman’s Challenge at the National Western Stock Show as well as local gymkhanas, carried the mail on the historical Pony Express trail, shown off in a parade, ridden to the local brewery, and packed an entire bull elk 8 miles out of the Flat Tops Mountains by himself. He was ridden by confident, advanced kids in summer camps. He has tackled many obstacles, including suspension bridges, rolling bridges, ponds deep enough to swim in, the Texas two step, a teeter totter, curtains, soccer balls, and tunnels. He has carried an umbrella, flags, and kids double and bareback. He celebrated the 4th of July with sparklers and saluted his heritage on Halloween by dressing up as a “quarter” horse. He enjoys moving cows and will lay his ears back if they don’t move quickly enough. He has ridden out alone and in groups. He is the same horse whether riding in good weather or driving wind. He is like riding a mountain goat over rocky terrain. His reaction when riding up on a rattlesnake was to stop and wait for his rider’s next cue. He has been hauled long distances. His trot is smooth enough that Carly rode him comfortably while pregnant. Everyone comments that his frost-bitten ears are “So Cute!” With Smart Little Lena, Shining Spark, and Dash for Cash all on his papers, he has the foundation to go whichever direction you want him to!
